Presumably these Adept Weapons may have perks that specific benefit them in Ordeals, as I think that’s probably going to be the Adept philosophy with all modes, if I had to guess.įinally, we learned what Gambit has been slimmed down to, effectively a shorter version of Prime with no yellow bar boss enemies, no armor perks and abilities and a shorter Primeval phase. My guess is that this is the plan to replace strike specific loot and motivate people to complete Grandmaster for reasons other than snagging a title. Nothing is changing about Strikes except for the fact that for the first time, Bungie mentions that they are considering Adept Strike weapons for season 13 and beyond, presumably tied to Grandmaster Ordeals. I think they realized the urgency of making Trials relevant again, lest it die off completely. They’ll have more details about those in an October sandbox preview. The big highlight out of this section is that Iron Banner is finally getting a solo queue in order to combat the constant complaints of 6 stacks stomping all over normal players.īungie also now says that Adept Trials weapons are coming in season 12 with Beyond Light, which is a surprise, given that I though they weren’t going to arrive until the season after. And it’s very clearly a reissue to some extent of something that’s been sunset. I get why we’ve landed here, but we went from three unique pinnacle weapons a season to three more generic ritual weapons to now one pursuit weapon shared across three activities. After you do that, you can do additional steps to earn an ornament styled for each activity, Bungie’s answer to “no more selling legendary ornaments in Eververse” given that legendaries can now be sunset. The difference now is that since there’s only one weapon, you can choose how you want to earn it, though you are locked into that quest for Strikes, Crucible or Gambit depending on what you choose. As in, no Revoker or Recluse that are entirely unique, but instead it seems like what we got with Buzzard or Komodo, where you have four options to choose from across the last four perks. We are sticking with the style of Pursuit Weapon that is not like Pinnacle weapons used to be. They don’t name it in the TWAB but I think it’s called “Adored” if I read those leaks right. Bungie officially showed off the new Pursuit Weapon for next season, which is literally a Beloved wrapped in a scarf.
